admin - I needed someone to stay with me for about a week after the surgery because my youngest was 2 then, my twins were in kindergarten.. so I really just needed someone to watch him. For the first few days, I laid on the couch 24/7 only getting up to go to the bathroom because it hurt to do much. after that I started becoming pretty mobile! If it helps, I photographed a wedding exactly 12 days after my surgery.. lol

Kristy - How long did it take to recover? I’ve been looking into it but I have an 18 month old that I stay home with and I’m pretty much the only one who takes care of her.

3 months post op! :)

SO,.. it’s update time. here goes. *deep breath* Since October…

Michelle Crook - Kristen,

First off – I must tell you that you are an amazing photographer! And also amazing because you shared your story! My mother had the same surgery about 7 years ago & Dr.Kuhn was her surgeon. And he is now one of her best friends! You picked the right man for the job. And one thing I have learned from watching others with this surgery is that you must use this as a “tool” not a crutch or a fix for it all. And you are on the right path. It is never easy dealing with weight when you are overweight, that I truly understand myself. Your life has changed so much now & will continue. Just stay on the healthy path and you will blossom!
Thanks for sharing & I look forward to seeing more posts!

Michelle

HUGE announcement!

Things will start slowing down.. or come to a SCREECHING HALT in just a few days. I will be having surgery this Monday, the 10th,.. and I will not really be available for emails.. or much use to anyone for a few days! I know you’re wondering.. well what kind of surgery?? & I will…

Jerri Calvert - Hey Kristin!

We don’t know each other, but I am friends with your photography page on FB, and we have many mutual friends. I just wanted you to know that I am excited for you and your weight loss journey. I too, had GB in May of 2007-lost 115lbs and have had twins a little over a year ago and have kept the weight loss off-even after gaining 35 lbs with twins. anyway, feel free to message me if you have any questions, etc…I don’t know Dr.Kuhn personally, but I have heard he is a very skilled GI surgeon, so you are in great hands. Once again, congrats!!!

Jerri
