I’m a small-town girl from Paris, Texas — the “other” Paris — where roots run deep, names carry history, and sunsets feel like prayer. I’ve called this place home my entire life, and it has shaped the way I see people, light, and legacy. This community raised me, and now I get to photograph the stories that will one day outlive us — a gift I don’t take lightly.

I’m a wife of more than twenty years to a wonderfully stubborn man who still makes me laugh, and a mother to three sons:  twins, Nolan and Noah, and our youngest, Mason. They are growing faster than my heart is ready for, but motherhood remains the most beautiful chapter of my life — the one I will never stop rereading.

We live on ten quiet acres out in Lamar County, where the sky opens wide and the evenings turn golden long before the sun goes down. It’s the kind of land that teaches you to slow down… to listen… to notice. I think that’s why storytelling feels like second nature to me — I grew up watching the world speak softly.

When I’m not photographing families, I’m usually collecting books faster than I can read them, fully aware that one day I’ll have the time — and that day will break my heart a little, because it means this season of loud hallways, busy calendars,  and overlapping laughter will have already passed.

For the past 18 years, I’ve had the honor of telling people’s stories through photographs — the unposed moments, the gentle in-betweens, the laughter you feel before you hear, and the love that lives in the details. I founded Kristin LaRue Photography in 2008 with a simple belief: every family deserves to see themselves in their legacy — not just perfectly arranged, but truthfully remembered.

I’m a wife, a mama, a storyteller, a stroke survivor, and a proud community cheerleader — rooted in faith, family, and connection. I photograph people the way I see them: with heart. With truth. With tenderness.

If you’re looking for a photographer who values connection over perfection, warmth over posing, and legacy over trends — welcome.

You’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
