Milestone sessions can take place at KLP Studio in Paris, Texas or outdoors at a location that fits the person we're photographing.
Studio sessions give us consistent lighting, privacy, natural-light options and the ability to create anything from a clean, timeless portrait to a fun birthday setup.
Outdoor sessions give us room to move, beautiful natural light and a completely different feel.
The best option depends on the age, personality and kind of milestone we're celebrating.

Babies change ridiculously fast.
One minute they’re tiny enough to curl up on your chest, and the next they’re sitting, crawling, walking and developing a personality approximately seventeen times larger than their body.
Milestone sessions are a chance to document all of it.
Bring the favorite stuffed animal. The blanket they drag everywhere. Their favorite toy. Those little overalls Grandma bought. Anything that helps tell the story of who they are right now.
BIRTHDAYS ARE KIND OF A BIG DEAL
Birthday sessions can be simple and timeless or completely full of personality.
Bring balloons. Bring a cake. Bring the outfit you've been saving. Bring something that represents exactly who you are at this age.
For kids and teens, we can incorporate hobbies, sports, dance, music, books or whatever they're currently obsessed with.
For adults?
Same rules.
Except now you're allowed to bring better cake.
CAKE SMASHES
First birthdays deserve their own kind of chaos.
Cake Smash sessions can include traditional birthday portraits before we bring out the cake, giving you both clean portraits and the gloriously messy ones.
Sets can be kept simple or customized around a theme or color palette.
And yes, some babies delicately poke the icing.
Others commit crimes against cake.
Both photograph beautifully.
TEENS DESERVE MILESTONE PHOTOS, TOO.
There’s a strange little gap between childhood portraits and senior pictures where we tend to stop professionally photographing our kids.
But ages 10, 13, 16 and 18 are huge.
They’re changing just as quickly as they did when they were toddlers — only now the missing teeth have been replaced by braces, eyeliner, football uniforms, instruments, favorite bands and opinions about absolutely everything.
Photograph them anyway.
You’ll be glad you did.
