Celebrating the Beautiful Beginning of Something New

Pregnancy can feel long while you’re living it—and impossibly brief once it’s over. Your changing body, the anticipation, the tiny movements and the connection already forming between you and your baby are all part of a chapter worth remembering.

Kristin LaRue Photography creates warm, artistic and emotionally meaningful maternity portraits in Paris, Texas, both in-studio and on location.

Photographing the people you love since 2008.

A Maternity Experience Designed Around You

Your maternity session includes guidance from beginning to end.

I’ll help you plan:

  • The best time to schedule your session
  • Studio or outdoor location options
  • Clothing, color and styling choices
  • Flattering posing and comfortable movement
  • Partner and sibling participation
  • Meaningful details or sentimental items
  • Artwork and images you’ll want to preserve

You do not need to know how to pose or feel completely confident in front of the camera. That’s my job.

I’ll guide you through each step while creating a comfortable environment where you can relax, connect and feel beautiful.

Choose Your Maternity Experience

Maternity portraits may be booked as either a Mini Session or a Full Session, depending on how much time and variety you want.

Both options include planning assistance, posing guidance, an online gallery and print rights. Every selected photograph is delivered in both color and black-and-white.

Studio or Outdoor Maternity Portraits

Studio Maternity Sessions

Studio maternity portraits offer privacy, comfort and complete control over lighting.

KLP Studio is perfect for creating clean, intimate portraits as well as the dramatic, richly styled images Kristin LaRue Photography is known for. Studio sessions are also a wonderful option when Texas weather refuses to cooperate.

Outdoor Maternity Sessions

Outdoor maternity sessions combine beautiful natural surroundings with warm, glowing light.

Depending on the season and your desired look, we’ll choose a location that complements your wardrobe, personality and vision for the finished images. Can’t decide between studio and outdoor portraits? A Full Maternity Session gives us the option to create both studio and outdoor looks when scheduling, travel and available light allow.

When Should You Schedule Maternity Pictures?

Most maternity sessions are photographed between approximately 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy.

During this window, your baby bump is typically well defined while you may still feel comfortable enough to move, pose and enjoy the experience.

Every pregnancy is different. If you’re expecting multiples, have medical considerations or anticipate delivering early, scheduling sooner may be recommended. The best time to reserve your session is during your second trimester so we can plan your date, location and wardrobe without rushing.

If you’re already farther along, please reach out anyway. I may still have availability.

Partners and Children Are Welcome

Your pregnancy is part of your family’s story, and the people sharing this season with you are welcome to participate.

Your partner can be included in romantic, connected portraits that preserve the anticipation you share together. Older siblings can also join for meaningful photographs celebrating their growing role in the family.

We’ll create a combination of individual maternity portraits and family images based on your selected session and vision.

Both maternity options include up to five people. Additional participants may be added for $30 each.

What Should You Wear?

The best wardrobe is one that makes you feel comfortable, confident and true to yourself.

Depending on the look you want, maternity sessions may include:

  • A flowing maternity gown
  • A fitted dress that highlights your baby bump
  • A simple bodysuit or fabric-draped look
  • Jeans with a neutral top
  • A romantic or dramatic studio wardrobe
  • Coordinating outfits with your partner or children
  • A meaningful accessory or heirloom

You don’t need to match everyone perfectly. Coordinating colors, textures and tones usually creates a more natural and polished result.

We’ll discuss wardrobe before your session so your clothing complements the location, lighting and overall style.

A Maternity Mini is best suited for one carefully planned look.

A Full Maternity Session provides more time for wardrobe variety, depending on the locations and overall session plan.
