A creative little home for big stories.
Located in Paris, Texas, KLP Studio is the indoor home of Kristin LaRue Photography—a comfortable, creative space designed for everything from brand-new babies to graduating seniors, families, maternity, milestones, headshots and plenty of ideas that don't fit neatly into a category. Having my own studio gives us options—beautiful natural light when we want it, professional studio lighting when we need it, and a comfortable place to create year-round without Texas weather calling the shots.

KLP Studio isn't built around one particular look. Neither is my photography.
Depending on your session, we can create photographs that are soft and natural, clean and timeless, bright and playful, rich and dramatic—or a little bit of everything.
The studio gives me the freedom to choose the lighting, backgrounds and styling that fit you instead of making every person who walks through the door fit the same setup.
NATURAL LIGHT OR STUDIO LIGHT?
Both.
KLP Studio gives me the flexibility to photograph with beautiful natural light as well as professional studio lighting. Sometimes I want the softness and simplicity of natural light.
Other times, I want complete control so I can create something polished, bold or dramatic. And sometimes we use a little of both.
The point isn't how I light your session. It's choosing the light that best fits you, your session and the photographs we're creating.
Soft and natural. Clean and classic. Dark and dramatic. We're not locked into one look here.
WHAT CAN WE PHOTOGRAPH HERE?
Honestly? A lot.
Newborns. Babies and milestones. Cake smashes. Children. Families. Seniors. Cap and gown portraits. Maternity. Couples.
Headshots and branding. Boudoir. Pets. Birthdays. Themed mini sessions. Commercial projects.
And the occasional:
"Okay, this might sound weird, but I have an idea..."

A STUDIO BUILT AROUND THE PEOPLE I PHOTOGRAPH.
I've spent years collecting backgrounds, furniture, fabrics, props, lighting equipment and all kinds of things that allow me to create something different from one session to the next.
For newborn sessions, the studio includes a curated collection of wraps, blankets, outfits, backdrops and props.
For seniors, families, maternity, children, branding and other sessions, we'll choose what we use based on the look we're creating.
You don't need to walk through the door knowing which background you want, where you're supposed to stand or what we're going to do with the light.
That's my job. You just have to show up.
YOUR SESSION DOESN'T HAVE TO LOOK LIKE EVERYONE ELSE'S.
This is probably my favorite part of having my own studio. We can change things.
We can start simple and end dramatic.
We can use natural light for one part of your session and completely change the mood with studio lighting for another.
We can photograph something timeless on a simple background and then turn around and create something bold.
Your photographs should feel like you—not like the person whose session I photographed the day before.
AND THEN THERE'S TEXAS WEATHER.
Texas likes to keep things interesting.
One day it's beautiful.
The next it's 104 degrees, raining sideways or windy enough to relocate your hair to another county.
Inside KLP Studio, we don't have to care.
No sweating through your clothes in August.
No freezing in January.
No humidity destroying the hair you spent an hour fixing.
No mosquitoes trying to participate in your family pictures.
And no obsessively refreshing the weather app all week.
We get to concentrate on your photographs.
PERFECT FOR THE LITTLE ONES, TOO.
For babies and young children especially, having an indoor space makes a huge difference.
We can keep things comfortable, take breaks when they're needed and give little ones time to warm up without racing against sunset or weather.
Kids are allowed to be kids here. Babies are allowed to need a bottle.
Toddlers are allowed to decide they're suspicious of me for the first ten minutes.
We'll figure it out.

Actually, I'd rather you didn't worry about it at all.
Whether you're coming in for a headshot, maternity portraits, your baby's first photographs or pictures with your entire family, I'll guide you through what to do.

You don't need to know how to be "good at pictures."
